For many men, asking for help can feel harder than carrying the burden alone.

This Men's Mental Health Month, we're reminded that strength isn't about facing every challenge by yourself. Sometimes, strength is taking the first step toward growth, healing, and support. 🫂

As Troy shared after participating in SVdP's Adult Life Skills program:

"Before this class, I thought being a man meant carrying every burden alone. Through St. Vincent de Paul’s Adult Life Skills program, I learned that real strength comes from asking for help, building healthy habits, and believing in my own future. This journey has helped me grow not just as a provider, but as a person."

Stories like Troy's remind us that hope grows when people have the support, encouragement, and tools they need to move forward. 💙

There is no single solution to preventing homelessness.

Every community faces different challenges, which is why our local Conferences and Councils respond in different ways. Some provide rental assistance. Others operate food pantries, charitable pharmacies, thrift stores, housing programs and more.
