🎺 ARCH CITY AURA vs DEL QUADRO GRANDE CAMPANA vs LOTUS SOLO 🎺
Just a fun and very impromptu comparison of three excellent trumpets currently available through Arch City Brass.
In this video, I’m playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow and switching between all three horns. Please pardon any mistakes—I’m a semi-retired player these days and haven’t spent nearly as much time in the practice room as I once did. I simply wanted to give everyone a chance to hear these instruments side-by-side under the same conditions.
For those curious, I’m using the same mouthpiece on all three horns: a Monette B2 S3.
One thing all three of these trumpets have in common is an oversized bell concept, but each takes a very different approach.
🎺 Arch City Aura Jazz Model – This particular Aura is based on the Jazz platform, which normally features a red brass leadpipe and red brass bell. For this custom build, we kept the red brass leadpipe but paired it with an oversized 43-style taper gold brass bell and a copper lacquer finish. The result is a unique blend of warmth, color, projection, and efficiency while retaining the flexibility that the Jazz model is known for.
🎺 Del Quadro Grande Campana – Featuring its signature oversized copper bell design, the Grande Campana is known for its huge sound, rich tonal color, and broad projection. It is played by professionals including Kenny Rampton of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and NYC trumpet artist Anthony Hervey.
🎺 Lotus Solo – The Italian-made Lotus Solo is Adam Rapa’s primary performance trumpet and features an oversized two-piece bell design. Known for its efficiency, response, projection, and unique playing characteristics, it has become one of the most talked-about modern trumpet designs available today.
💰 Current Pricing:
🎺 Arch City Aura – $1,800
🎺 Del Quadro Grande Campana – $3,500
🎺 Lotus Solo – $5,800
Three different designs. Three different price points. Three professional-level instruments.
Listen with your ears, not the price tags.
