"Columbus has spent $462,828.25 on camp remediations since 2024, according to records provided to Matter News by the Department of Development, including $23,242 to remediate a half-dozen camps in March and April of this year."

Camp sweeps are traumatic, counterproductive, and fiscally irresponsible. We have experienced firsthand the significant negative impact they have on our neighbors, who have nowhere safe to go. Finding solutions are multi-faceted and complicated, we know. We also know that sweeps only set all of us back.

Please take a moment to read this piece and to hear these stories. Perpetually in gratitude to Andy Downing and the good folks at Matter News for their work.

In interviews, nearly 20 unhoused or formerly unhoused Columbus residents spoke about the things they lost in encampment sweeps and the impact it had on their lives.

To our customers and community,

Our family has roots in Europe, specifically Poland, France and Belgium, and we have relatives who personally suffered the scourge of Na**sm. Our home countries were invaded and occupied by N**i Germany, and many of our loved ones witnessed and suffered from the resulting atrocities and destruction.

For decades, we have hosted annual celebrations to honor the sacrifices of America’s World War II veterans and thank them for their role in defeating the N**is, liberating Europe, and preserving democracy.

We unequivocally denounce those who express pro-N**i opinions and beliefs, and will not host individuals who are at odds with our stance.

After discovering opinions Casey Putsh, a candidate running for Ohio governor, has made regarding Adolf Hi**er, N**is, and the Holocaust, we will not host him at a recently announced event at our business.

We acknowledge we should have more carefully researched him and his campaign before agreeing to host this event. We sincerely apologize for this oversight. We thank you for your years of support and we hope to see you soon.

Merci,

The Wielezynski Family
