Goal this month… post on this page more often 🫣

My first crochet pattern is now live on Etsy!

This pattern will always have a part of my soul🫶🏼 Today marks one year since I’ve left the workforce to become a stay at home mom. There’s been a lot of ups and some downs. But at the end of the day I’m so very blessed that I’m able to stay home with my kids🫶🏼

Motherhood is the reason I got into crochet. I grew up watching my Grammy and my dad take part in this lovely craft. Creating things for people to cherish for years to come. For that reason is why I picked up crochet. I wanted to be able to create things for my children and others around me because giving gifts and taking care of people is one of my love languages.

Motherhood is messy, it’s ugly, and often times women jump head first and lose themselves in it (not a bad thing). When we get pregnant we get told there will be a village for us. That people along the way that will help us no matter what. But a lot of times this village isn’t there for everyone.

For the past year I’ve had something weighing on my heart, I wanted to find a way to give back to those around me, to the community around me. I’ve finally figured out how I wanted to do this.

And that’s how operation build a village was born in my mind at like 2am. The idea is every month I will make baby loveys (the ones without animal heads at this moment). But perfect little security blankets babies can latch onto.

I want to be able to help moms have heirloom items for their babies and in the process build a village that we can lean on one another even if we’re hours away.

Love this idea, but know no one that’s expecting? Have kiddos who are too old for a lovey but want to help in some way? You can sponsor someone to cover the costs for them/cover supplies!

Is there anyone on my page expecting or know someone who is? I found and fell in love with this lovey pattern and would like to wip up a few more! (I have a checkered pattern one I’m working working on currently that I’d love to make a few more of as well!)🫶🏼

Motherhood is all about having a village so I would love to give these out! If shipping id just ask for that cost to be covered or we can arrange pick up!

Another custom made it way home this week,

An old co worker saw the pattern and asked if I would make for them since it was getting chillier in Texas. In the end I loosely followed the pattern (for sizing) but other than that I freestyled this.

Was able to make this ADORABLE custom the other week for a little girl for Christmas 🫶🏼

The customer and I took time to discuss what she wanted, from the pattern to the colors, the kind of yarn I would use, and then the rest she let me do my thing !

This scarf measured about 64 inches in length, and had 8 inch deep pockets (to help keep those precious hands warm) so the little girl it was for would be able to grow into.
