Dear Cherry Starr,
I want you to know that my Facebook family is thinking of you this morning- we stick together when someone we love can use us. I thought I’d speak for all of my Facebook friends by saying how much we support you as you mourn the passing of your beloved husband Bart. While we cannot imagine the level of your grief when Bart passed this morning, we certainly can remind you that your husband was a perfect example of integrity and class. We all know that he was the MVP of the first two Super Bowls, a Green Bay Packers and an Alabama Football legend, but what we remember most are the long hours that you and Bart spent at your Rawhide Ranch for at-risk kids. We remember the kindness and respect he showed to strangers, and we remember your fairy tale marriage that just a few days ago reached 65 years. You both showed strength & resiliency in tough times, yet never failed to make others feel special. Two of the greatest men I knew were my father and your husband, and I’m blessed to have had both in my life. We love you and we’re with you, Cherry. For 85 years the world was a better place with Bart in it, and now heaven has one of its greatest role models ever.
