Welcome to Midway Hobbies, LLC!

Have you been looking at purchasing a new or used firearm and want to find a local small business to do the firearm transfer? Well, you've come to the right place! We want to make your firearm transfer experience as smooth and easy as possible so here are a few quick answers to frequently asked questions!

1. Are we still doing firearm transfers? YES!

2. Do you have to give us a "heads up" when you order your firearm? Not at all! Just choose us as your FFL Dealer and we will contact you when your package arrives!

3. Are the transfers still $10 each? YES (unless you get 2 or more pistols/revolvers at the same time or within 7 days apart because we have to report it to the ATF / Sheriff's Department through additional paperwork)

4. What if the company I am getting my firearm doesn't have your FFL? No problem! Forward us your order confirmation and we will send our FFL to another FFL.

5. My tracking just showed my firearm(s) arrived should I call your office? We ask that you give us a little time so that we can get your firearm(s) logged into our books and make sure we have what we need for our records and then we will call you. If we haven't called you within a couple hours feel free to call us as maybe your phone number wasn't on the documents with your firearm(s).

6. How long does it take to do the transfer? Most generally it takes about 10-15 minutes from the time you come in, check out your firearm(s), fill out the form and then we will then call it in and have an answer if you are a proceed, delayed or denied.

7. What does proceed mean? You are approved to have your firearm(s) at the same time you fill out your paperwork.

8. What does delayed mean? You will not be able to take your firearm(s) at the time you filled out paperwork as the background check will take more time. They will give us a date that they will allow you to pick up the firearm(s) unless they call us sooner. Either way, we will contact you on the date they say you can have your firearm(s) or the day they call us to proceed with your transaction.

9. Do they tell you why I am delayed? Sadly, we aren't given a reason that someone is delayed. We do know there are many firearm transfers and they are doing a little more of a background check on firearm transfers.

10. What does denied mean? You are not allowed to have your firearm(s) at all for this transfer. In most cases, you can talk to whomever you purchased your firearm(s) from and see if they will allow you to return the item(s). You cannot transfer to any other person.

When placing your order please choose Midway Hobbies, LLC as you are checking out and we will call you when we receive your package to make arrangements for you to fill out the paperwork to transfer your firearm to you.

We are open Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (closed on weekends and some holidays) but do all transfers by appointment only.

As many of you have heard the City Council has passed the mandatory mask order for the next 90 days for the city of Columbia going in effect at 5:00 PM tonight (Friday, July 10, 2020).

While we are with many of you, and do not like this decision, we will be respectful and do our part to protect those that come through our doors for gun transfers while keeping our employees safe.

We will continue to provide prompt service for your firearm transfers and will still contact you the same day your firearm(s) arrive at our office.

We will continue to do things by "Appointment Only" and ask that anyone with a firearm transfer please call our office at 573-446-2484 and NOT just show up without an appointment. This will allow us to disinfect between customers and make your time at our office as quick as possible.

We will ask that effective Monday, July 13, 2020, that each person that enters our building to please bring and wear a mask to use while inside our building, unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask. We will have hand sanitizer available to use while on site.

We promise to be professional, respectful and communicate this information with everyone that we can. Again, we don't like this either but if it allows us to keep small businesses open, slow the spread and try to get things back to "normal" as quickly as possible then we are willing to mask up for you.

Thank you for your continued support during this challenging time. We are thankful for so many of you that have been understanding to all the changes during the past several months. It's been really nice getting to visit with each of you and hope you will continue to choose Midway Hobbies, LLC as your FFL dealer!

Midway Hobbies, LLC WILL be allowing firearm transfers!

We have been working to put systems in place to allow this to be done and to try and keep those of you that support us and our staff safe.

Starting Monday, March 30, 2020 we will be contacting everyone that has transfers and making appointments to come fill out the paperwork. We are working online with E-Checks and *should* be able to have an answer within 5 minutes or less once the information has been entered.

We ask that if you have a firearm coming and need an FFL sent to please e-mail us at [email protected] and we will gladly get this sent over.

If you are tracking your firearm please DO NOT show up at our office. We will call you as soon as it arrives and schedule a time to get it transferred to you. We can't have people showing up without an appointment.

Thank you all for understanding. This is a temporary solution and once everything has been cleared with COVID-19 we will resume the way we have always done firearm transfers.

We will do our best to update you on any changes. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work hard to try and figure out a new way of doing business. Stay safe and talk to you soon!

Update on COVID-19 and effects on Midway Hobbies, LLC

The order is effective beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020, and will continue to be in effect until 8 a.m. on April 24, 2020, or until it is extended, rescinded, superseded or amended. The order’s intent is to ensure that the maximum number of people stay at home to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) while enabling essential services to continue.

There are exemptions in the order related to essential activities, such as obtaining necessary supplies and services, activities related to health and safety, and more. All business and operations, except essential business and operations (as defined in the order), must cease.

We are sorry but FFL transfers that Midway Hobbies, LLC provides are not considered essential and we must follow the guidelines given by the City of Columbia and Boone County. As soon as we hear that we can resume business we will be in contact with everyone that has fi****ms to pick up.

Have you been looking to purchase a new or used firearm but aren't sure where to do the gun transfer? Well you have found the right place! Midway Hobbies, LLC wants to be your "go-to" local FFL company and we are here to help you make this transaction smooth and easy!

Just choose Midway Hobbies, LLC as you are checking out with the online company you are purchasing the firearm from and we will contact you once the package is received - just please make sure your phone number is on the sales slip so we can contact you. We will work with you to arrange a time within our normal hours of business so you can fill out the paperwork for the transfer!

Going through a company that doesn't have Midway Hobbies, LLC's information including our FFL? No problem!
