Yeshua didn’t do away with the Law at His death—and Shavuot is one of the clearest proofs. The disciples were in Jerusalem celebrating the feast that remembers the giving of the Torah, and right in that moment the Spirit came with fire, sound, and awe—echoes of Sinai. If the message were “the Law is canceled,” Shavuot would be a strange stage for God to choose. Instead, the timing declares the opposite: Torah and Spirit are not enemies. The Spirit doesn’t erase God’s instructions; He empowers God’s people to live them.

That’s why the New Covenant isn’t “new rules because the old ones failed,” but a deeper work of transformation. The promise is that God writes His Law on the mind and on the heart—moving obedience from mere information to inner formation. The apostles didn’t leave Torah behind after the cross; they leaned into it with greater clarity and power. This isn’t legalism—it’s Spirit-led faithfulness. The real question isn’t “What can I stop obeying?” but “What is the Spirit shaping in me as God’s instruction becomes my daily walk?”
