Free Comic Book Day is *Tomorrow*!!

We're planning to open the doors at our usual time (10:00 am), although we may open them a little earlier if we have a significant line...but please don't take that as encouragement to show up at 8:00am, or even 9:00. :-)

We are not requiring masks but they are encouraged, and we will be allowing only 3 groups into the shop at a time - 4 if one of the groups wants to dig around in the back issues.

Since the heat has broken (relatively speaking) we don't plan to have water on hand so plan your hydration accordingly.

If you're unable to make it tomorrow and/or don't want to risk proximity to such a large group, call the shop at 573.443.0113 and we will *try* to fill your FCBD requests (https://www.freecomicbookday.com/).

Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, August 14th!

..and now, an explanation and a request for a favor:

Our apologies to those of you who have already seen an FCBD post from us, but unfortunately the FB Powers That Be decided not to share our last post widely. To combat this, and to try to get the word out as widely as possible, we're going to post every 2-3 days between now and next Friday, August 13th. Our #1 reason for opening the shop every day is to help more people, especially kids, discover comics, and FCBD is by far our best opportunity to do that. So, we're going to be posting more than usual (okay, A LOT more than usual) to try to get the word out.

Based on our understanding of how FB "works", if you like, comment on, and/or share this post with others then FB will feel obligated to show it to more people...and if we can hit a high enough number of views then we'll stop posting about it before next Friday/Saturday. Anything you can do to assist will be greatly appreciated.

And finally, since we've already kept you this long, yes, we will be observing certain protocols for the day. Masks will not be required but will be encouraged, and we are going to limit the number of groups in the store at a time to 3. We're hoping to have some cover set up outside and to provide free water, but the line will likely be even longer than usual and the forecast is for "hot" (in August! who could have predicted that?), so plan accordingly.

Free Comic Book Day 2021 is Saturday, August 14th!

This year, due to that-which-shall-not-be-named, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) has been moved from "the first Saturday in May!" (tm) to Saturday August 14th (exactly 1 month from today!). We will be offering a full selection of Free Comics(!!!) for your FCBD enjoyment, so please plan to come and see us.

Gift Certificates! Wish lists! Recommendations!

Happy Thursday, everyone - long time no post (time flies when you're hopped up on goofballs, that's for sure...). As we roll into the holiday season, we wanted to let everyone know that we offer gift certificates in any amount from $10 to $1 gazillion (it's two transactions though, b/c the register and card machine will only process $1/2 gazillion / $500 bazillion at a time) - and we've become absolutely *expert* at taking CC transactions over the phone so we can do the whole thing remotely if you prefer.

Along with gift certificates we are happy to take wish lists that well-meaning but uninitiated family members can use for gift purchases. We're all collectors here at RBC and know well the quiet horror of sending parents in to buy comics ("I wanted _Swamp_ Thing, not _Man_-Thing! They're completely different! Gaaahhh!").

And, if one does want to get a surprise gift, our (reasonably) friendly and (very) knowledgeable staff are ready to guide you to the works of the most talented creators, both past and present.
