🚨 COLORADO GUN OWNERS — THIS IS OFFICIALLY HAPPENING 🚨
Colorado has officially released the preliminary “Specified Semiautomatic Firearms” (SSF) list tied to SB003, and it is exactly what many feared… essentially EVERY major AR and AK pattern firearm currently in production. *Keep in mind, this prelimitnary list is still in the process of being edited and more fi****ms than what is currently listed may be put on the chopping block. The official "list" will be available 1 July, 2026.*
The state’s new 152 page guidance document specifically includes:
▪️ AR-15 & AR-10 variants
▪️ AK pattern rifles
▪️ AR/AK pistols
▪️ Pistol caliber carbines built on AR lowers
▪️ Detachable magazine semi-auto shotguns
Bolt actions, lever actions, traditional tube-fed shotguns, and standard handguns are NOT part of the SSF category.
📅 STARTING AUGUST 1ST:
Purchasing one of these fi****ms in Colorado will require:
✔️ Creating a profile in a new state system
✔️ Sheriff’s office eligibility approval & background check
✔️ Completion of a state-approved 4 or 12-hour training course
✔️ Passing the course with a certified instructor
✔️ Returning to an FFL for the purchase
✔️ Additional waiting period requirements
Your eligibility card will only remain valid for 5 years before the process starts over again.
⚠️ IMPORTANT:
This law affects FUTURE PURCHASES — NOT fi****ms you already own. Existing owners keep their fi****ms.
Also, your Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit DOES NOT count toward these new requirements.
Lawsuits are expected, but none are likely to stop the August 1st rollout.
The reality is simple:
👉 BUY BEFORE AUGUST 1ST
or
👉 Prepare for significantly more bureaucracy afterward.
If you’ve been considering adding another AR, AK, PCC, or tactical shotgun to your collection, now is the time to stop “thinking about it.”
