Praise God, He has answered my prayers.
I will have a new gallery at 19 Bowllingbrook St in Petersburg. It is the same building as the old Farmer's Bank. I will have both the first and second floors. It was built in 1815 and will be a great location for my historical artwork. I am planning a September opening for Kidd Historic Gallery and Museum.
I sincerely thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes.

Dear Friends,
Tonight, I am on the Colonial Heights City Council agenda. I sent them a very short request to speak about starting a conversation of donating my artwork to the city and having it permanently on display to the public. In doing so, I am requesting a small space to continue painting. Colonial Heights is my home and I love it and it's citizens. I have lived all my life here and many of you can remember my Father's barber shop on Pickwick Ave.
If you want to come and show your support, I would be forever grateful. The meeting starts at 7 pm.

God Bless you,
Henry Kidd

It's Party Time for One Last Time!!!!!
Side Street Gallery and Henry are throwing a Goodbye Party This Saturday July 11, 2026, at 1 PM.
This is our final day of business and we are going to celebrate.
Feel free to bring some shacks. I am bringing the cake and drinks.
Yes, I am sad the gallery is coming to an end but I know the Good Lord will open another door for the next chapter in my life. I will always continue painting the rest of my life to honor Veterans and America.
I'm still looking for another place to paint and a place to continue teaching art. If anyone has any ideas, please contact me.
God Bless our Troops, Veterans and America,
Henry Kidd

It is with a sad heart that I announce the closing of Side Street Gallery. We will be open for business through Saturday, July 11.
At 1pm on July 11, I am throwing a good-by party for the artist and public. We have been here for 15 years as a public art gallery.

I have been cleaning out the back room and I have many items for free or a donation to help us pay for our final expenses. Also, all of my prints are 30% off.

I want to thank all who have supported us through the years and especially the following artists who have stay with us to the end; July Northcott, Marti Fann, Patty Munford, Jennifer Shepherd, Margie Wood, Nona Goodman, Nancy Belcher, Nick Skaltsounis, Rosie Collins, Savannah Cabral, Bonnie Wray, and Maria Andrade.

With this being said, I am working on several ideas to find a place for me to continue my art classes and a place to paint and continue to exhibit my artwork to the public. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them.

Thank you, and God Bless,
Henry Kidd

It is time to rally the public.
Side Street Gallery needs your IMMEDIATE HELP. For fifteen years SSG has served the public with gallery space for local artist, art lessons, school art showings, classroom space for other art instructors and teaching people with drug or alcohol abuse problems a way to focus their attentions elsewhere.
If nothing changes in the immediate future, SSG will be forced to close on July 31. There are several ways you can help.
1. Donate money. We are a 501-c3 non profit gallery and all donations are tax deductible.
2. Buy artwork. We have had too many artist leave the gallery because the public is not buying their work.
3. Find us another location that we can afford. SSG has a new landlord and he has raised our rent higher than we can afford.
4. We need more artist to rent wall space so the gallery can be self sustaining.
5. Visit the gallery and bring friends with you. Too many people still do not know we exist. Help spread the word that we are here.
6. If you can help, Call Henry Kidd 804-943-2200

Finally, it breaks my heart to think that SSG may close. I want to thank all the local artist that have stayed with us since the beginning. We could not have made it this long without your support.

Side Street Gallery Artist Association Meeting;
There will be no meeting this Saturday. I have to be in Bedford, VA for a fund raiser for the D-Day Memorial with my artwork. We will take the Summer off and Resume meetings in September.
Thank you,
