For the children who are the reason, the heartbeat, and the hope. 🫶🏻
Today is World Children’s Day — a day to pause and remember why we step into this work with love, dedication, and, yes, a fierce determination to protect and uplift early childhood.
Because in the middle of all the noise…
The policy changes, the pressures, the endless expectations placed on an already stretched early years sector…
There is something constant. Something pure.
The children. 😍
The tiny hand that slips into yours without a word.
The wide eyes discovering a ladybird for the very first time.
The breathless giggle that breaks through your tiredness like sunlight.
The trust, the vulnerability, the joy, the limitless potential held in every small moment. 🥹
This is why we do it.
Not for applause. Not because it’s easy.
But because children deserve adults who see them, cherish them, and fight for the world they grow into.
And while passion keeps us going, passion alone can’t carry a sector forever.
That is why we speak up.
That is why we advocate.
That is why we say, clearly and unapologetically, that all early years professionals deserve a fair, valued, well-supported system — because the children deserve nothing less.
Every child, in every nursery, every childminding setting, every garden, every classroom, every forest school, deserves to feel safe, loved, and free to explore a world that celebrates who they are.
And every early years professional who nurtures those beginnings deserves to be honoured for the extraordinary responsibility they hold. 🙌
So on World Children’s Day, here’s to them —
the reason for the late nights, the early mornings, the muddy shoes, the heartbreak, the joy, the advocacy, the hope.
Here’s to the children who remind us what really matters.
Here’s to the children who make us better humans.
Here’s to the children who teach us how to truly see the world. 🌍
