Don’t miss this at sunset school happening tomorrow!!!!!!! Sarah took all her paints and the 5th graders painted (AND BUILT) The coolest bird houses to sell for a fundraiser they are doing. You can buy them!!!!!! Show up at sunset at 11:30 They worked on these for days and did a great job.

Sarah’s latest piece to come out of the shop……..For a long time I hated anything but painting furniture and I tell ya these old pieces can be totally restored to their original beauty with a lot of work but it’s worth it. The first picture is the finished piece and then the rest are process and the before.

In progress!!!!
Not every makeover is quick and easy 😅 Sometimes old finishes fight back every step of the way.

This piece needed a lacquer thinner wash just to remove the stubborn buildup that was clogging sandpaper as this customer started to DIY and used a citrus stripper. The sanding process has definitely been a labor of love. But progress is happening! 🙌

I have a few more hours of sanding and THEN I can get to the fun part.

The top is veneer, so perfection isn’t always possible, but it’s already looking SO much better. Next step: stain testing to find the perfect new finish.

Restoration takes patience, problem solving, and a little grit—but bringing tired old pieces back to life is always worth it. Stay tuned for the transformation. I can’t wait to show you when it gets finished ✨
