Big progress this week — and getting close to the first batch.

The first shop I worked with wasn’t able to produce the product at the level I want to bring to you. That said, they helped a lot in getting me pointed in the right direction, and I appreciate that.

I’m not rushing this — I’m building something I’m proud of, and something you’ll be proud to use.

Now working with a new shop to dial in the machining process and lock in consistency for production. Packaging is also coming together for the first run.

First batch coming soon.

Right now I’m dialing in how these will be packaged for the first run…

This is a mock-up using placeholder blocks to test fitment and layout inside a zip-up case.

The goal: something that actually holds up in a shop environment and keeps everything organized—not just a box that gets thrown away.

👉 Would you rather have:
1. A durable zip-up case like this
2. A standard box to keep cost lower

Ok guys and gals, are you tired of making these blocks over and over again? Are you tired of trying to look for options to buy sets but only to find these Chinese made systems that don’t work? Well that’s what made me create the RDI Modular Sanding system. I got tired of it also and wanted to create a solid product that has consistent radii and also blends. Prototypes are coming in soon and will post the updates on here. Let me know what you think and what radius sizes you use most. 🤙

I figured I’d introduce myself for everyone following along here. My name is Justin Weizenecker.

I’ve been working in the marine/fiberglass and finishing industry for about 20 years. Like most guys in the trade, I’ve always made my own sanding blocks out of wood, foam or whatever was laying around.

And let’s be honest… we’ve all duct-taped sandpaper to something at some point and called it good enough.

Over time I kept running into the same issues—lack of consistency, constantly remaking blocks, and trying to keep clean, even radiuses across multiple parts.

That’s what led me to start working on the RDI system. Nothing crazy—just trying to build something that solves a problem we all deal with every day.

I’ve got prototypes coming in soon and I’m looking forward to putting them through real use and seeing how they actually perform.
