ALL Semi-Automatic Pistols Should be Banned from NYS.
Governor Cuomo has indicated that they are not infringing on the rights of hunters or sportsmen, he stated that if you can not hit your target while hunting with 7 rounds then maybe you should take up another sport, because you’re really not good at this one. Well I agree, if you can’t shoot whatever it is you’re hunting for with the first few rounds, well then you probably should take up another sport. But like a true politician who possesses great skill at distorting the truth, Cuomo does not disappoint, for he is using miss directional logic to support his views.
I do not know of any hunter who uses a G***k or Berretta 9mm for hunting. In fact most semi-automatic pistols are not used for such. So what are they used for? Well let’s start listing them here:.. • Law enforcement
• Off duty officers
• Retired officers
• Security guard protection
• Body guard protection
• Home protection
• Competition
• Personal protection
This is just to name a few uses for these semi-automatic pistols. So where does the governor’s view on limiting magazines capacity to 7 rounds fit into this topic? It doesn’t.
So now that we’ve established that these fi****ms are for uses other than hunting, why are they subjected to this 7 round hunting limit.
We are not subjecting on duty police officers to this limit, yet off duty officers, bodyguards, retired officers, security guards and yes your average citizen who possesses such fi****ms for work or personal protection are now limited.
If this limit is truly because of the governors views on hunting then we should ban all semi-automatic pistols from NYS. Because there is no sportsman use for these fi****ms, so with that logic, there is no need for them in NYS.
You laugh, but how long will it take for this governor or the next one to use this logic to convince the public to pass another law doing just that? Oh, wait they don’t need the publics approval on law proposals when they can just do it after hours in the cover of darkness.
