Since 1921 Sherman Plumbing and Heating Company has been proudly serving Clinton and surrounding areas. Over the years we’ve built a reputation as an expert, honest, and dependable company. The company was purchased by Steve and Julie Hadley in January of 2019. ars ago. The landmark Sherman Plumbing and Heating Company “leaky faucet” sign was installed in 1949 and was the first animated sign in Clinton. The sign features red and green lettering and blue drips. The three blue drips are then followed by a splash.

Have you ever noticed this map sitting in our showroom? This is a plat map of Henry County that shows different plots of land and their owners. We're not certain of the exact age of this map, but we can say for certain that this map is pre-1979 as Truman Lake hadn't gone in yet. We also own a similar map from the 1940s which leads us to believe this one may date any time from the 1930s-1960s. If your family has lived in Henry County, MO for a while, can you find your family name anywhere on this map? Do you recognize any landmarks that can give us a closer estimate on the timeframe of when this map was made? We've zoomed in and enhanced the writing so you can read it, let us know what you find!

There are a lot of National Days in this world, but few hit closer to home for us at Sherman's than today, June 22, National HVAC Tech Day! These guys work day in and day out in some of the toughest conditions to keep our community comfortable. They work on burning hot rooftops, squeeze through tiny crawlspaces, sweat it out in attics, trudge through snow and mud, sometimes walk up and down about a million flights of stairs a day, and get absolutely soaked cleaning out units. To all of our techs here at Sherman's, thank you so much for all you do!

Today we're celebrating two more anniversaries here at Sherman's! First up is the man whose career with us could legally be an adult: Mark Porter! Mark has been with us for a whopping 18 years, and it shows. Mark is the go-to man for appliance repairs. He knows both appliances and this shop inside and out! That's why the appliance repair room has earned the name "Mark's Office." Congratulations, Mark!

Up next is Kaden Hadley! Kaden has been around Sherman's through his school years since 2019, but he officially joined the team in the summer of 2023. He's taken full advantage of his opportunity to try out the different trades we offer, but he's taken to electrical work like a duck to water! Working with our lead electrician, he's been training to wire new installs on houses, troubleshoot light fixtures and panel issues, and more. Kaden is working on his EPA certification and recently passed his Missouri LP Gas certification as well. We're very proud to see his progress! Congratulations, Kaden!

June is our busiest month for anniversaries and this week will bring us three more! Today we're celebrating a big achievement, Ralph Allen has been with us for five years! Ralph is one of the most courteous guys you'll meet. An eager learner, he's taken to HVAC and appliance work, and he's always willing to jump in wherever he's needed. We're proud to say he also recently passed his Missouri LP Gas certification. We're so happy we get to call him a member of our team! Congratulations on five years, Ralph!

This week marks the biggest employee anniversary of the year! We're celebrating Donna Osman's 40th(!!!) anniversary at Sherman's! Her official title is bookkeeper, but if you were to shadow her for a day it wouldn't take too long to realize that, to the Clinton community, that's just a small part of who she is.
Donna's bookkeeping career began in 1979 when she and her husband Dean moved from Macon to Clinton, Missouri. She worked as bookkeeper at a local nursing home for seven years before joining the Sherman's team in 1986. Sherman's has always been a family business, and not just for the Sherman family. In 1990 Donna's son, Bobby, was born. Eventually he grew up and had kids of his own who have become a part of the business, too, one of whom starred as the very happy baby in this newspaper ad. Donna and her family are a big part of the Clinton community, and just about every day at least one customer comes in to tell her hi. She's a caregiver to many and dedicated to helping her family and friends. Congratulations on 40 years, Donna!
