October can be a great time for a night bite, especially during the full moon.
This fish has a pretty cool story, except the fact that I accidentally caught it!
I had fished the w**dline earlier in the evening , and let the boat drift up onto the spot , as I did I noticed a 1 inch thick mark on my sonar right on top of the w**d edge.
Pretty lucky considering it was only 5ft. Deep, making my sonar cone literally inches in diameter.
After a call from a friend that he had just caught one , I raced back to this for-sure Muskie Mark.
After having the Swedes cast a few times each to the spot with Bucktails , I threw a Twisted Clicker, which is a Big Mamma topwater with a clicker on it, right upto to the zone.
It was almost last light, but that couldn't hide the attack this thing made on that bait, literally inhaling the entire thing in one gulp...the battle was sick , I could barely keep her in the water , she just kept jumping and jumping.
When it was all said and done , we were photographing one of the heaviest 50.5 inchers I've seen in years from Vermilion.
I guess it's better to be observant than Good sometimes!
Thank you Muskie , good show😁.
