For those personal timeline memories that pop up… wanted to document this… 2.1.2022 🍭🍬🍭🍬 Jake’s Candy Spot opened for business Jake’s Candy Spot]
Ever since Jake was itty bitty his mind has locked in on business ideas… some ideas for the moment he was in and some ideas for the future… A couple of those ideas he has tried and several have gotten the “oh, maybe write that down for the future” response from us. 😉
In early fall 2021 after visiting one of our favorite candy stores and buying Zotz and candy cigs 😂 an idea came up on a candy business in . Jake was inspired by .littles and and their local booth businesses!
Jake caught a vision and confidence 🥳 that the booth set up could work for a 13 year old in the candy business! Because of this set up and because of our love for candy stores it seemed to make sense and John and I decided to say yes… yes to being his investors and partnering with Jake! Yes to combining what I have learned in business and marketing with his desire to learn those lessons. Yes to his vision of having a business that would be fun for kids, actually all ages, all budgets. So we said yes…
Backstory… Jake and I always love to find the local candy shops when we are on vacations, camping, new towns, etc… we have made tons of memories together that stemmed from checking out a cool shop, buying candy that triggered lots of childhood memories for me, sharing those stories with Jake… there is something about walking around a candy store or an antique store that opens up the nostalgia of stories, experiences, simple times, family, childhood friends, etc… I think that is the Norv Condy (Dad/papa) in both Jake and myself!!
So all that and so much more led to Jake, 13 years old starting his first official business with momma as his business partner! Who knows how this will play out but whether a short time or a long time we hope it will bring to our community and those in the area! 🍬🍭🍬
