Here’s another reminder about the ticket giveaway for the upcoming Kim Gordon concert next Sunday, June 21st Rock & Roll Hall of Fame To be entered to win: simply post a comment about your favorite concert experience seeing Kim performing either with Sonic Youth or as solo artist. Pictured here is THAI with an old concert ticket when SY and Wilco co-headlined a tour back in 2003. That certainly was a fantastic double-bill. THAI also cherishes her copy of SCENE dated October, 1992. The drawing for the ticket giveaway will take place on Thursday, June 18th.

Our dude Coleman is here to remind you that there is still time to enter our ticket giveaway to Kim Gordon’s upcoming concert Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on June 21st. All you have to do is post a comment here as to what is your favorite Kim Gordon record. It can be a Sonic Youth release, Ciccone Youth, Free Kitten or one of her solo releases. I am featuring The Andy Warhol Museum 2019 release “Sound For Andy Warhol’s KISS.” I am choosing this release because BLUE ARROW RECORDS was the consultant on the manufacturing of the record. Our former employee Sarah worked really hard on the project and it certainly is special. Side four is actually a screen print image of the cover image.

Thus far, we have over 30’entrants for the ticket giveaway. It has really been fun reading your comments. If you comment again here, your name will added again to entry tumbler.

Did you know that Kim Gordon (founding member of Sonic Youth) will performing at the Rock Hall on Sunday, June 21st.

The good folks at the rock hall have partnered with Blue Arrow Records to giveaway a pair of tickets, as well as an EVENT PLUS TICKET which would entitle you access to the rock hall after 5 pm the day of the show.

Here’s how to enter: simply prove to us that you are a fan by commenting here as to what was your first introduction to Kim Gordon’s musical journey. (For me, it started when SY released “EVOL.” It was the video for the song “Shadow of a Doubt” that first caught my attention.) You can get a bonus entry by re-posting this announcement. Tickets can be purchased directly at the Rock Hall.

The handbill mailers are truly amazing as is the photograph of the La Cave. In addition to the Velvet Underground, check out the other legendary acts that played there: SOFT MACHINE, SILVER APPLES, jEFF BECK GROUP, TRAFFIC, NAZZ, SPIRIT, BB KING, NEAL YOUNG, THE FUGS, MOTHERS OF INVENTION, etc….

INKY wants you to know that yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Miles Davis (May 26, 1926), or as some might be inclined to say: “THE BIRTH OF COOL.” To commemorate such a “milestone,” this weekend we are putting out some of his albums from that recent massive and impressive jazz collection that we purchased.
