What a way to kick off Summer on the Square!

Last Friday, the Shaker Square Summer Concert Series launched with a vibrant evening of music, dancing, and community as friends, families, and neighbors gathered on the greens to enjoy the dynamic sounds of Xcetera The Band.

Now, we’re ready to do it all again!

Join us this Friday as we welcome Von James featuring special guests Russell Thompson & Free Agent to Shaker Square. Von James will bring her rich blend of R&B, soul, funk, and Motown favorites to the stage – joined by Russell Thompson’s signature saxophone stylings and the smooth instrumental sounds of Free Agent - known for their unique fusion of jazz, funk, and R&B.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, gather your friends, and get ready for another unforgettable summer evening filled with great music and even greater community. We can’t wait to see you on the Square!

On June 11, Coyoacan Taqueria at Shaker Square celebrated its ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY! In honor of the anniversary, Coyoacan is offering a special deal: 3 tacos and a fountain drink for $10.50 through Monday, June 15.

Rey Galindo is owner/chef of both Coyoacan Taqueria and the adjacent Luchita's Restaurant. Coyoacan Taqueria is a fast-serve, casual restaurant (named after Galindo’s hometown in Mexico) where customers can enjoy customizable tacos, bowls, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, empanadas, salads, and more.

The adjoining Luchita’s has a full-service bar featuring Mexican beers and margaritas,
including the new soft-serve ice cream margaritas. Happy Hours at the bar are Tuesdays through Fridays from 4 to 6pm and feature drink specials and 10% off all appetizers.

🌞🎶 Summer starts at Shaker Square!

Join us on Friday, June 19 from 7-9 PM, as the Shaker Square Summer Concert Series debuts for a season of music, community, and unforgettable summer evenings.

The series kicks off with The Xcetera Band, a high-energy live band delivering a feel-good mix of funk, soul, R&B, pop, and dance favorites guaranteed to keep the crowd moving from the first note to the last.

Bring a lawn chair, grab a blanket, and gather with friends, family, and neighbors on the greens of Shaker Square to enjoy live music under the summer sky.

The evening will feature a very exciting moment as we officially “flip the switch” on Destination Cleveland’s newest Illuminate CLE installation at Shaker Square. Inspired by Cleveland’s legacy as a city of innovation and light, Illuminate CLE is transforming public spaces through dynamic lighting experiences that bring communities together and create vibrant destinations after dark.

✨ Be among the very first to experience this exciting new lighting installation as it comes to life at Shaker Square on June 19!

This concert is just the beginning. The 2026 Shaker Square Summer Concert Series features six free performances from June through August, showcasing an eclectic lineup of musical styles including R&B, soul, jazz, steel drums, and featured vocalists.
