Cinco de Mayo will most definitely be celebrated at Casa de Luchita’s (Luchita’s) at Shaker Square! Luchita’s will be hopping on Tuesday, May 5 from 11am to 9pm (special extended hours for Cinco de Mayo).

Luchita’s will feature a specialty dish being offered just for Cinco de Mayo - chiles en nogada. The chiles en nogada - a stuffed poblano pepper covered in a walnut sauce has become a classic Mexican dish.

In addition to the chiles en nogada specialty dish, Luchita’s will also offer a special Cinco de Mayo limited menu: enchiladas, fajitas, burrito mojado, flautas, chimichangas, ensalada luchita’s, and cactus salad. Also featured will be specialty drinks, including Mexican beers and a variety of margaritas. New to the bar menu is soft ice cream margaritas which are getting rave reviews.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Burt Saltzman, longtime CEO of Dave's Supermarket, a true cornerstone of the Shaker Square community.

Burt believed grocery stores should serve people first—showing up daily, knowing customers by name, and investing deeply in the neighborhoods he served. That legacy lives on at Dave’s Market at Shaker Square and throughout Northeast Ohio.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Saltzman family and the entire Dave’s community.

Swipe for a before and after of the demolition of the long-vacant shopping center at the corner of Van Aken Boulevard and Drexmore Road. After many years of inactivity at the site, this work represents meaningful progress toward reinvigorating a prominent and highly visible corner of our community!

Clearing the site opens the door to many new possibilities! The goal of the owners is to attract a redevelopment project that can bring long-term value and positive momentum to our neighborhood. We're so excited to see how our partners will transform the site!
