Tomorrow, March 13th, I will be greeting everyone at River Light Gallery & this little guy will be coming along with me! Fridays are a perfect day to wander through Peninsula. Come on down , grab a coffee from next door at Peninsula Coffee House (vanilla latte with oat milk for me please 😄) and then pop in to the gallery for a chat with & some shopping for beautiful art made by your favorite local Ohio artists (moi included 😘) Then wander 3 doors up from us to find some treasures at Peninsula Valley Antiques. After antiquing, you are probably ready for a bite to eat, so a yummy bowl of soup at Fisher's Peninsula is the way to go (their Bloody Mary's are also👌🏼so depending on your mood...🍹I mean, technically they are a full serving of vegetables 💁🏼‍♀️) . Now that you are reenergized on soup & veggies, cross the street to check out all the fun nostalgia in Apple Jacks Toys - trust me, it's fun for the kid in all of us! Did you know that you can support the Cuyahoga Valley National Park just by making purchases on cool tshirts and stickers and fun things that you would want to sport anyways?! Well you can if you bop on over to Trail Mix shop. They also carry beautiful nature inspired jewelry, art, home goods & fun things for the kids! It's a neat place to visit for sure. Trail Mix is located in the grey building just behind the Winking Lizard Tavern (which you should hit up at dinner for some delicious wings & a local 🍻 or 🥤!) After you are done at Trail Mix, make a right out the door & walk around the building. You will see a 🦋 painted on the fence. This is the Peninsula Art Academy Go inside & view the current art show they have displayed by talented local artists, grab info to sign up for an art class 🎨 for yourself or someone you know (girls night anyone?!) & then shop for some local art & handmade jewelry- this is a super fun hidden gem in the heart of Peninsula. Across the street you'll see a red building that resembles a barn. Do not miss this place! Head on in to Purplebrown Farm Store This is one of my most favorite places! This small but mighty shop sells goods from SO MANY of the local farms, micro-farms and homesteads in Ohio. YUM! Come have some fun!

I don't know how winter is where all of you are from, but here in Northeast Ohio, we haven't seen one like this since I was a little kid.... and being born in '79, I'm a product of the 80's, sooo, it's been a very very long time!! It feels like my kids have been home more than they have been in school between snow and cold days- but boy are they not complaining 😆! That is what childhood is all about, right? And my youngest, Aaron, has been absolutely living it up! He and his buddies have been taking full advantage of the snow, with loads of sledding, fort building, drinking obscene amounts of hot chocolate (with tons of marshmallows of course!) and basically just living their best life. So of course this sled riding family was inspired by my little man and our truly Wintery Winter. I hope you all are enjoying the sparkly, magic as much as we are! If playing in the snow isn't your jam, I DO hope that you are at the very least staying warm by the fire with a cozy afghan, a good book or movie- and preferably a snuggly pup or kitty curled up in your lap- and if you are lucky- BOTH!!

Gimme that sunshine 🌞!! I don't know about all of you, but goodness am I thrilled that it is finally summertime- no more ridged schedules, no more waking up at the crack of dawn, NO HOMEWORK!! I am so ready for some beach and pool time! My kids have already been to the pool a million times, but sheesh, I need to catch up! Does anyone have any fun summer vacation plans lined up? Please tell me about it in the comments!

This fun Beachy Take Along Play Set has just dropped at River Light Gallery today! It's the first set I've painted since my hiatus, and goodness did I thoroughly enjoy working on it!! This set has 15 pieces, including the adorable beachy carrying case that holds everything neatly inside for easy transport for fun on the go and tidy storage. I am here greeting you all day today (Friday the 13th!! 😱😆) at the gallery until 5:00 pm, and we will also be open 11:00-5:00 Saturday and Sunday! I hope to see you soon!

🎶🏫🎒 School's out for summer! 🌞🏖️🎶 I don't know who is more excited- the kids ... Or the teachers! 😆 This little cutie was painted for my son Aaron's 4th grade teacher as her end of year gift. He wanted to give her something special and asked if I would paint her a peg. 💕🥹 He is moving up and onto a new school next year and is so excited about this big new adventure, but truly loved his time in elementary school. We all did! This ends our 10 year reign at Northfield Elementary and will all miss it. And Mrs. Gruber was the perfect teacher to wrap up our many years in this wonderful school. Thank you for a great year!!

.jess.lgs The Artistic Director of the choir I sing with, , had a monumental accomplishment this spring. She graduated 🎓 and earned her PhD from Case Western Reserve University!! I am so very happy for her- goodness gracious, writing a Dissertation is no joke and watching Jess present it made me SO proud. You could see just how much passion went into her hard work! She is such a talented woman and I am blessed to call her a friend. I wanted to gift her the best way I know how, by painting a little Mini Me to commemorate her big day. So I present to you my tiny replica of Dr. Jessica L. Gallagher - Steuver, a woman who does many great things. Congratulations Jess 🥂! Here's to many big adventures ahead for you. Goodness knows you deserve it.

Daisies, Cosmos and Dahlias are truly joyful flowers indeed! Just take a look and see how each one grows and they will tell you a story about their own piece of blossoming joy. Be it wild and free and swaying in the breeze like the Cosmos. In a huge group with lots of friends like the social butterfly, the Daisy. Or standing tall and proud yet a bit of an introvert, solitary and stunning in their glory for all to see like the Dahlia. We can learn so much from them- and find a little of their joy in all of us.

These pretty flowers will be available for purchase at in Peninsula, Ohio next weekend, April 18th. I will be doing another round of peg drops this coming week! Wheeeee! Come and see us! We are open Friday-Sunday 11-5. See you there!

It is a dreary, rainy day today here in Northeast Ohio. The perfect weather to climb back in bed for a snuggle with the pup and a good book. But I have been on a roll painting this week and I still have the urge 🥰 to create. So I'm down here in my studio painting some 🐿️ in trees to add to my Spring Flower Garden collection. I'm definitely not as fast as I used to be, but I'm ok with that. I'm reminding myself that I'm being intentional with my art and allowing myself to fully enjoy the process as much as the end product 🫶🏼
