I remember that day. I was in second grade, an announcement was made over the intercom that I didn't understand, and I remember being very confused by the extreme emotion coming from the adults. My sisters and I walked home and my parents were sitting in front of the television, and I saw it.
I saw the first plane ram into the twin towers over and over again, as the news channel played the video on repeat.
I didn't understand fully but I remember walking into the kitchen and weeping.
That day changed many things in America.
I remember the increased fear and caution. I remember the immense loss and mourning.
Everybody was shaken up.
