Our latest news
Hey flavor seekers! I hope that Spring still has room for you to find some joy in the newness and possibilities ahead this year! I know that at times things seem rough, but it is our hope at Adun that you are finding things that bring you peace and allow you to spread love.
The biggest question we have been asked this season is, “How is Business?” And to be honest, the best way we can answer that is to say we are optimistic about the business's future. Is it a wild time to be a business owner? Absolutely. But we do this with love and care in mind, like always. We will remain committed to finding ways to keep our prices manageable and to keep sustainability at the forefront of our goal to share quality spices with you, our community. It is no secret that you have noticed a change in our labels. This was a temporary way to update our labels as rising printing costs became an issue. We found a way to not compromise the integrity of our ingredients, while finding a way to keep getting high-quality spices to you. It has now enabled the introduction of more ingredients while maintaining product availability. You have always seen our products offered to you in a way that will prolong the shelf life of the spices you stock your pantry with, and always will. We are excited to begin sharing refill packs online and in-store, with a lower cost to you, and a way to refill and reuse the jars you already have at home.
Cookbook Club
Today, May 1st, marks the opening of registration for our next cookbook club session, and I couldn't be more excited to get cooking with our next cookbook: The Lao Kitchen. Saeng Douangdara (https://www.saengskitchen.com) is an amazing Lao-American Chef and creator that I began watching and learning from at the beginning of the Pandemic in 2020. Saeng caught my eye as he began sharing about his family, his refugee childhood, and the traditional ways to create the rich flavors of his Lao heritage, with a Midwest American point of view. I toiled for a few weeks on what would be a great book that would let us use many of the fresh spring vegetables and herbs that bless us here in Cleveland from local farmers and markets, and The Lao Kitchen hit that mark for me. It will also give this session's attendees the exciting opportunity to shop at and discover some of my favorite markets in Asia Town and across the city. So we are deepening our understanding of Lao heritage and cuisine this season. Registration (https://www.adunspiceco.com/events) opens at 1pm today.
Bubbles by the Pound
Our Annual Pound Cake and Prosecco Sip & Taste is coming up fast! If you would like to join us, tap into the events (https://www.adunspiceco.com/events) tab to register! There are still a few seats left!
North Union Farmers Market
We will be returning to Shaker Square for the Market this season! This is also a gentle reminder: if you receive SNAP/EBT benefits and would like to use them for locally grown, fresh foods, grab your spices and meet us on The Square on May 2nd, June 27th, July 18th, & August 22nd.
