This is the first frame I’ve made since before the Christmas rush, so it’s been a minute. I made so many frames in October and November that I got really burned out! Both the vintage bubble glass frame and the sea horse were found at thrift stores. I decided to keep this little frame for my personal collection.

A major, widespread winter storm will hammer parts of the South, Midwest and Northeast Friday through Monday with potentially damaging ice and heavy snow for millions from New Mexico and Texas to parts of New England. The storm has been named Winter Storm Fern by The Weather Channel. Fern could affect over 180 million in the U.S. with snow and/or ice, over half the nation’s estimated population. Packages will continue to ship daily, but weather delays with USPS are possible.

Expectation vs reality: bug studio edition. This is what my desk looks like after the busy holiday rush!!! My whole bug studio is mad chaos! But before I clean it, I’m teaching my daughter how to import a shipment of insects. Please welcome Bella (and her K9 assistant, Daisy) to Kat’s Bug Boutique! She has been doing an apprenticeship with me since she graduated from high school. I taught Bella how to mount insects years ago, but now I’m teaching her how to run the shop, pack orders, import insects, etc!

I just placed a huge insect order! Restock coming soon! I know it’s not very exciting when the post is in Latin with no pictures, but it’s a lot of butterflies, some beetles, and some dragonflies. Sadly no spiders 😕. This order is being imported from Taiwan and it should take about two weeks to clear customs and the department of fish and wildlife. The link to my Etsy shop is in my bio! 🪲🐞🕷️🦋
