On June 18, 1898, Bob-lo Island Amusement Park opened for the first time on Bois Blanc Island, Ontario, Canada. It would be a favorite summer destination for Detroiters for the next century. Shown here is the 2-story waiting room and dock for the Bob-Lo Island Park Steamers at the foot of Woodward Ave. in the 1920s.
