WHY DO YOU CARRY?

I was recently asked why I sign my posts: Gun Up and Carry... because it's a necessary evil.
This is my explanation: I carry not because I want to, but because I have an obligation to those I love as well as myself. I do so because there is an EVIL element that walks the face of the earth that wishes to inflict their will upon others... this is unfortunate in my opinion. I would much rather live in a world where I am free to enjoy it, unencumbered by those people and NOT have to carry a weapon to defend myself... but that society does NOT exist, nor will it ever! As long as man walks this earth, there will always be those that think they can inflict their will upon you... and you can either be prepared for that day, or be a victim to their desires. I choose to be prepared!
I promise you, I would much rather go to the range and shoot because I enjoy it immensely, than do so in preparation for a possible encounter with these people. This is why I believe that carrying a firearm is a necessary evil... The RIGHT to defend ourselves has been bestowed upon us by a higher power(imho God) and guaranteed by our Founding Fathers, to protect our life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To do so effectively... I CHOOSE TO USE A GUN!
Gun Up and Carry... because it is a necessary evil and an obligation we owe to our countrymen and women.
