As summer makes its way back into North Georgia, so does one of our favorite ways to unwind, stargazing. While you can obviously stargaze in the other seasons, there's something about lying out under an open sky on a warm summer night that brings us right back to childhood memories.
While there may be no "perfect" time for stargazing, Spring and Fall provide the clearest nights, while the Milky Way is most visible through the summer. And if you've seen the Milky Way with your naked eyes, you know just how stunning it can be. The key part to a good stargazing experience, though, is making sure you get somewhere dark, far away from any light pollution. Lucky for you, we put together a journal post a while back listing some of our favorite spots in North Georgia.
From favorites like Brasstown Bald and Hogpen Gap, to stunning wilderness areas like the Cohutta. Check out the full list in our Journal, linked in our bio. And let us know your favorites as well. Sometimes it's as simple as laying out a blanket in the backyard.
