Hello everyone! We've been getting a lot of messages about the last flag that we made.
We want you to know we love to hand make them and be able to customize them if wanted. Aside from the wood being shaped with power tools, we treat them with the same respect as we would treat an actual flag. For many of us Veterans and Families a Symbol, Crest, Motto, Creed, and so on can have a VERY significant place in hearts that mean almost as much as Old Glory. We're honored to be able to build you something that can mean so much and can have additional images engraved into the wood.
There are so many places that make flags with so many prices and qualities. We feel that anything mass produced is just another piece of wood and that anything less than perfect is just a decoration.
From the beginning we wanted to make Heirloom quality pieces that will last forever. Having lost friends and family over the years, we also know what it means to receive something handed from one generation to the next. Kind of like a boy being handed Grandpa's shotgun when he dies. That piece will take on a special meaning forever and will continue to be passed down.
A bunch of pine boards slapped together and painted and not even proportional to the actual Flag, to us, is unacceptable.
We can make these Heirloom flags with pretty much any type of hardwood, size, etc. The lumber we have been making these with also mean a lot to us. The colors you see are the NATURAL colors of the wood. The white stripes have been done in Hard Maple, the red is a wood called 'Bloodwood', and the Union of the Flag has been done in another wood called 'Purple Heart'. To us, these woods mean a lot especially as a Military/Veteran Family. The stars have been laser engraved and then hand painted so that each star is 100% perfect. We use a keyhole routed into the back so the flag will mount flush against the wall with no gap. Each stripe and the Union are joined together with glue and 'biscuits' that bind them all together adding a lot of strength to be able to last for generations to come. After all is done, we hand rub multiple coats of oil into the polished wood and it brings out the grain amazingly!
We are upfront and honest and love to give the customer options as to colors, types of hardwood, sizes, etc then we will build to suit and keep the customer up to date on the progress if they want. It feels good to show how it is taking shape and transforming from raw boards into their flag made their way!
Ok, so on to the pricing. All flags are proportional to US Flag regulations for lengths, widths, spacing, etc. We've priced them based on 6 inch lengths. Any 'odd' length ,longer or shorter, is definitely doable if you want, we'd be glad to do it.
24" - $225
30" - $280
36" - $350
Any size is doable, and we charge proportionally at 1.25% per 6" increments.
These prices are for a basic flag with the engraved stars. If you wish to add any kind of other engraving, please let us know and we can get that quote from our engraver.
