All weekend long, we had frozen vikings at the Yuletide Experience ask, teeth a-chattering, "do you have mittens?"
We didn't. But ya know, the shop specializes in garb accessories made out of wool, so.... why don't we?
On that note, I spent a few hours prototyping. I looked at a mitten. I looked at a few glove patterns. I looked at my hands. And I did some free drafting. As always with our products, the key is functionality. We make clothing, not just costumes. What use is a mitten that doesn't mitten?
Pictured is the result. A beta prototype of what will hopefully be much prettier mittens in the future. Wool, lined with short pile faux fur. Probably to get embellishments like embroidery, trim, tie cords, etc now that we cleared the prototype "getting the basic mitten-ness" of it right. Last picture is an inside out view of the lining.
