Day 2 of SHOT the 3D Experience Sequoyah State Park! Come out and see us, great vendors set up, awesome 3D practice range plus some sweet courses set up in pretty country!

Reminder for our local customers: the shop is OPEN but Trent, Dalton and Mike are at SHOT, so CJ will take your info and we’ll get any repairs done next week! He can still build your arrows and get you taken care of.

Remember, Bill’s will be OPEN this weekend but the archery end will be drop-off only. Dalton, Mike and Trent will be back Monday to get you fixed up if you can’t make it out to SHOT!

🚨 🚨 TWO Announcements!!! 🚨 🚨

First: we are preparing for SHOT the 3D Experience at Sequoyah State Park this weekend!! Trent and Dalton will be there all weekend, so bow work will be on pause in the shop. If you need work, CJ can take your bows & info and have ‘em waiting for us when we get back. We’ll still be open and CJ can build your arrows and get you what you need! But we’ll have the mobile bow shop set up at Sequoyah so if you need an urgent repair, come see us there!

Second: we are pumped to drop two new original designs of Tomahawk Outdoors shirts! One features Bigfoot riding a black bear and ropin’ a buck; the other features Bigfoot on the pack-out! These are comfort colors tees that will wear well, hold up nicely and show your love of the outdoors in style!

These will be available this weekend at SHOT 3D along with the Darts collection, and available in-store! We’ll have the Bigfoot shirts up online next week if you need one shipped.

Youth Night at BSG is about 2 weeks away, folks!

We’re so excited to see all the young’uns get set up, dialed in and ready to make memories for the fall!

We are stocked up on kids’ bows, youth hunting bows, arrows, and accessories; if your little hunter is needing some gear we’ll have ya covered! If they’ve already got a setup, bring it in and we will get the draw weight and draw length set perfect for them to enjoy the summer puttin’ arrows down-range!

And don’t forget the camo swap—bring the clean, gently-used youth-sized camo your kiddos have out-grown or that you have laying around the garage and swap it for some camo that will fit better for the fall! Clothes, boots, vests, etc.

Event will be from 5-7pm June 20th! We’ll have door prizes, snacks and drinks plus Andy’s next door has blackberry cobbler flavored custard for the month!

June has the summer heating up, but we've still got deer to-dos to get us through!

Most of us have probably sat in the stand or blind, unsatisfied with the hunting action or setup and told ourselves this offseason will be different. Then life gets busy, the ticks come out, and we jump back into the same spot we've been for years.

Whether you're a seasoned hunter or are new to the game, Bowhunter 365 for June is filled with tips to get you prepared.

Planning and practicing like you play are big parts of June prep. Whether you're a food plotter or a public land hunter, June is a great time to find and choose food sources, evaluate access, and begin to put the pieces together for successful hunts in the fall! OnX and Google Earth are my apps of choice, but no matter what app you use, you can make valuable progress evaluating properties at a macro level in the AC. If you're new to bowhunting and have more questions, come see us!

As for the stick & string, now's the time to put the finishing touches on your setup: fixing peep twist, a new d-loop, new strings and cables or a full tune-up, June is when the bow shop starts to heat up and the wait times get longer. Welcome to June, folks! Don’t be like this doe looking back wondering where all the time went between seasons. Come see us to get dialed in!

Also, June means YOUTH NIGHT at BSG! Saturday, June 20th from 5-7pm we’ll be setting time aside to get kiddos set up for some summer arrow flingin’! We’ll change your draw length, draw weight, peep height, etc., adjust your rest or whatever your favorite little hunting buddy needs! We’ll have snacks and door prizes, PLUS a camo swap so you can exchange the camo your kiddos have outgrown for some that fit!

One more thing: don’t forget to come out to the SHOT the 3D Experience shoot at Sequoyah State Park this weekend! We’ll see ya there!

Hope y’all’s Sunday is as good as these bear grease biscuits!

You can use any ol’ favorite biscuit recipe and substitute bear grease (rendered down bear fat) in equal amounts for crisco/butter/lard/etc. We also like using 1/2 bear grease 1/2 butter.

Pro Tip: COLD buttermilk, pre-heated cast iron and folding in 4-5 layers are the secrets to top-notch biscuits!

They’re a favorite in our house, and one of the several ways to use more of your harvest when you’re after bear! This is fat from a black bear taken in southeast OK, and the fat was incredible! Already looking forward to rendering more the next fall!
