Well, it’s been over four months at this point and I guess it’s time to finally time to let you all know…
Our beloved Alisha (the owner of Stonehedges) passed away March 5th after a sudden illness. It was very unexpected. We have been so heartbroken and in disbelief still to this day.
Each day actually hasn’t been any easier, some days I find it actually harder, because it’s more of a realization that I will never see her again. I think deep down I haven’t made this post because it’s just another way of acknowledging she is gone. I’m sorry if any of you have been left wondering for so long. She was planning to open the shop in April like usual.
I am her niece Elizabeth, and I was the one who created and ran this page. Over the years, when some of you messaged with questions I told this to and some of you who messaged I just pretended to be Alisha because it was easier 😆
What I would give to be able to call my aunt up one more time and ask her a question from one of you! I loved setting up this page for my aunt. The first couple of years I put a lot of time into it and it was worth it to bring in many new customers to the barn, and my aunt was SO appreciative of it.
In the last couple of years she was trying so hard to learn about Facebook and was just about set to take control of the page ☹️
She was such a warm, friendly, compassionate, and important role to the community. Most of you all experienced her heartwarming “hi there!” and beautiful smile when you walked into her shop. She loved running the shop. She loved meeting new people and seeing returning customers. She loved learning about your backgrounds, your travels, your hometowns, and your families. Alisha was such an outgoing and wonderful person. She will be truly missed by not only her family, but I’m sure by all of you who stopped in even just once.
Cincinnatus will never be the same. When you drive by Stonehedges make sure to still say hi to Alisha to yourself.
Thank you all for your patronage over the last 25+ years. It’s certainly the end of an era. Please support your local businesses, Alisha always appreciated that. And maybe stop in sometime to say hi to Jim, he would probably like the company.
Feel free to leave a comment any memory you have of her. We would love to read them all.
