Got a bagel hookup or idea?

We're super excited for our new store, opening mid-2026 in Pleasant Ridge. But because we'll also be running a used gear store, retail space, bar and hosting music at our new location, we're pretty sure we won't have time to make our own bagels onsite.

SO, we’re looking for a local baker to join our journey. Think fresh bagels and a little bit of the unknown that comes with building something new. Bonus for offering an option for our gluten-free friends.

Join the Arrow Outpost team at Paddlefest as we help celebrate their 25th year on the Ohio River, and help to raise money for Adventure Crew!

We'll be there on Friday night (7/31) at the expo and setting up camp too. Join our paddling squad on Saturday for the 4.5 mile paddle. We'll have team shirts available for $15 (production cost).

Registration prices go up at the end of the month, so snag your Paddlefest spot. Hope to see you on the Ohio this August!

The Adventure Summit is a joint production of Five Rivers Metroparks and Wright State University - an event where you can learn tips from the pros on outdoor recreation, check out local places to play or be inspired by stories from locals who have done epic things around the world. The Adventure Summit provides something for everyone from the armchair adventurer to the hard core enthusiast.

Buy and Sell at the Used Gear Area!
Even though we'll be buying out a more select range of outdoor gear at our new store location, the used gear area at the summit will be open for all sellers to consign any hiking, biking, camping, climbing, endurance, or paddling gear and apparel.

Just looking to do some pre-spring cleaning? Donations will also be accepted, with proceeds benefitting the Five Rivers Metroparks Foundation.

☀️ So excited to be inching towards increasing sunlight in each day and heading towards spring. In the meantime, we’re enjoying sunset walks, while watching the snow melt away.

We’re sad to hear about Base Camp Outdoors Co, an outdoor and community-focused small biz, closing their doors. Being a small biz owner is built on passion, dreams and a whole lot of hard work and time. These are the places and people that make communities vibrant and unique, so support local as much as you can!

As far as Basecamp, make sure you stop by February 10-21st to wish them well and shop deals for their remaining gear.

This isn’t an easy goodbye.

Base Camp’s last day of business will be Saturday, February 21st.

From the very beginning, our Dayton community welcomed us with open arms, encouragement, and genuine support. You showed up for events, for conversations, and for the small moments that mattered more than you know. We are deeply grateful to every person who walked through our doors and helped make Base Camp feel like more than a retail store.

As we close up shop, we hope you can swing by February 10-21st. We will be rolling out final deals on everything in house, and more importantly would love the chance to see you one more time.

While this chapter is coming to an end, we trust the heart of Base Camp will live on through your curiosity, courage, and the belief that adventure, big or small, is always worth pursuing.

Thank you for being part of our story. This community will always be part of ours.

No big corporation spending, but using our dollars in a way that makes us feel good. . Kudos to all the small businesses, whether they closed to honor this day or that stayed open because that’s what ya gotta do as a small biz, and expressed their values for what is good, right and true. As soon as I saw Fireside’s post today, I knew where we were spending our time tonight.
