Rotten peanuts?
No, a queen cell from one of our hives this past spring. The bees make loads of queen cells when they are preparing to swarm. They make so many to insure their survival as a colony. Once the old queen leaves the hive with about half the bees, the queens will start to emerge. The first
ladies out will sting the other queens still in their cells and fight to the death with other emerged queens until there is a reigning queen. The bees will clean out and tear down the cells after the Royal battle. Quite amazing!! 👑👑🐝🐝
