Story Time.. Sam's runs on a points program to hold people "accountable". Technically, after 5 full points, you should be terminated. Unfortunately, if you're a favorite or kool with certain Mgrs. Then you can get as many and.. sometimes, they would magically disappear. Anywho, if you clocked in prior to 9min early OR left for the day, before 9min early.. (if you're 7-3p, & left at 2:50p) you would get a half point. Which can add up over time.
One day, I came in early to help out receiving, we were expecting a lot of trucks and needed to clear the dock. So, a few days go by and I noticed, I received a half point. I was there to help, I mentioned I would be in a little early to help clear the dock. Needless to say, I had to sit on that 1/2 point for 6mo, before it disappeared..
As the sign indicates below, You're a superstar, NOT looking for attention, just doing your job to help others an yet, you get penalized.
This is the exact reason why some associates won't go above & beyond. Because in the end, there's no R.O.I. for you or the job!! you're still in trouble, regardless!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to apologize for not being active on my page.. I had all intentions of sharing my stories & then my phone crashed and I lost all my pics.. so basically, I'm starting from scratch again, OR so it feels like. As always, thanks for for watching & reading.. lol..

More Tales.. as you can see, I basically, was the only car sitting in the parking lot, warming up my car, on a Sunday night. I was the closing Mgr at 5B. Everything around me was closed except for ROSS and thier lot had cars.. low & behold, this one car comes around the corner, parks, and walks up to the door. Tugs on the door, then stood there for a good few minutes, assuming the door was going to open or unlock itself?? I still can't comprehend this because the sign clearly says we close at 6p.. this was about 630p. 645-ish.. In ALL retail, there's always that 1 person, way after hours, that tries to get in.. Follow me for more Tales, share your retail stories or, if you're that 1 person trying to get in!!

This is walmarts seasonal flex area. This is well planned out, in detail, walked through several times to ensure a smooth transition, although on paper it looks good, it doesn't always go as planned. If anything, it's always the spacing that creates a headache OR items, not on the layout & now you have to improvise to see where it fits.

And just like that, the holidays are over. They will move on to the next order of business which is usually setting up for summer, grills, Patios, etc.. When they say, RETAIL is cutthroat, it's no joke. In reality, it's just another day & the new layouts must be set by specific days with very little wiggle room.

I was with Sam's Club for almost 28yrs. On 3 different occasions. From Oct.92 to July of 24.
So, this is Rosie, the automated floor scrubber. She travels around the club, with her GPS, 📸 & 🎤- scrubbing the floors & unfortunately, getting in everybody's way when they are working. Her route is programed using GPS & is equipped with self teaching technology that doesn't always work. So here she is, with the perfect timing, stuck on the carpet. She couldn't get all the way across. Oops.
