This is my first 1911 build and I decided to go with the 5" stainless government kit. The slide and frame have been Cerekoted in Midnight blue while the barrel, bushing, hammer, and trigger left stainless and polished. The trigger from 1911 builders is nice and crisp and mine is pulling around 5 lbs. Having never built a gun before I wasn't sure how well the gun would look and function but I have shot 150 rounds through it and it runs great and feels good. Overall I would say I had a great experience building a 1911 and I will be doing other builds in the future!

I've wanted to build a 1911 Bob Tail Carry for sometime. Finally found one with 1911 Builders. Quality and price were great, and so were the reviews. The build was easy. Some of the parts needed no fitting. That was disappointing to me, because I wanted to have to fit all the parts myself.

I didn’t have an option to choose the 2011 from the list, so I chose the Para. This is a 2011 long dust cover kit in 10mm. I’ve built several 1911builder kits, and they have all been high quality and given me good results. This kit initially had a machining blemish inside the firing pin hole. When I contacted TJ he had a replacement slide in route in a couple hours. You can’t ask for better customer service.

My 1st 1911 Build and first 1911 in general. It was a great experience and I learned a TON in the process. A few mistakes were made but in the end, it turned out exactly how I wanted and is a GREAT shooter, even without the sights installed. I've already started another. Parts are fantastic quality and extremely well made. The PRC and decking jig were a must as well. Thank you 1911Builders for such an excellent introduction into 80% builds.
