Finished this baby, with custom body and armature so she can not only stand, sit, and bend legs. She is the Luca kit with Charlie lower legs so all these things can happen. She has 100% human hair that can be finger curled and styled in all kinds of cute ways. She will ne headed home to her mom later this week.

Remember this baby... it was a complete strip and redo. So here is the baby now.

Current baby. He was a complete strip and redo. This baby had a lot of thick uneven paint issues along with hair, that looked like it was grey and very patchy. I will post again once completely done. This baby was stripped with the old formula Windsor Newton brush cleaner. I stock piled this stuff when I saw they changed formula. I went around to multiple stores that still had the very marked up original formula on the shelf and bought every single large bottle. This is truly the only paint remover I have found that is completely safe and effective on reborns (trust me I tried at least 10 others) Windsor Newton original brush cleaner works without messing with the integrity of the vinyl in any way. Other cleaners will mess with the vinyl and dissolve the vinyl, even if it is just a little. I am not on board with that. Others also turn the vinyl shiny or gummy. There are ones out there that make the vinyl stink and or harden. So please be careful when sending your babies to be redone.. Be sure they are using the correct products. ❤️❤️❤️

Value of a new reborn is found in this order.
1. The realism of the baby and talent of the artist. Mono rooted, micro Rooted, or plug Rooted. Is there paint pooled in the creases. Is the baby shiny or missing paint. ​Does the baby look painted correctly or does it look like it went to a bad salon. With make-up, lipstick, and a bad nail job.
2. The feature given to the doll. Rooted vs painted, vs drawn, vs bald. Rooted or glued lashes. Rooted or painted brows.
3. The supplies in the doll, kit price body type and cost, if they use actual glass weighting beads and assemble the doll correctly(not cut corners and just slap anything in it)
4. Last is the time. A doll with a glued on wig should never cost as much as the hours, days, and weeks rooting. A cuddle baby is not as valued as the exact doll with limbs that take 4 times the amount of time to make than just the head. A new artist time is not worth as much money as a skilled artist time(this is logic in every single profession in the world we should all know this) and last under this category are re-sold dolls. This part of the doll value doesn't get added at all when selling other artist work. They didn't spend days, hours, or weeks making it. So they should never be asking or getting more than the artist charged them.
These things are not just etiquette of the reborn community, they are logical and should be standard. I am getting burnt out seeing folks get taken and over charged for dolls that are no where near the value they were charged for them. Please when purchasing a doll keep all these things in mind. If you keep them in order, you have a better chance to always win when purchasing. Stay safe. ❤️
