Want a practical climate solution that’s already happening right now? Look at university energy systems.

In this clip, Jillian explains why campuses can be a perfect place to move faster on clean energy. A lot of equipment is simply aging out, and that creates a real opening to replace it with smarter systems like geothermal and other efficient upgrades.
It’s optimistic, practical, and way more doable than people assume.

What would you want your local campus to tackle first if they had to choose one big sustainability move?

An oyster farm sounds like the most ocean-friendly job on the planet… until you see what the industry relies on.

Marine scientist and oyster farmer Abby Barrows from Deer Isle Oyster Company shares what surprised her when she bought an existing farm: almost everything in aquaculture is built on plastic gear. Ropes, buoys, grow-out bags. Not because people don’t care, but because that’s the system we’re working with right now.

The full episode is an honest conversation about microplastics, real-world tradeoffs, and what it takes to actually change an industry from the inside.

Most brand stories sound the same because we keep telling the “one story” version.

This week on the ChicoBag Podcast, Andy talks with Jay Golden from Retellable about why trust gets built in the little details you usually leave out. The messy middle, the real reason, the moment you almost quit.

As the new year begins, we’re closing the book on our 20-Year Anniversary Giveaway with one last winner announcement.

Twenty years ago, our founder Andy Keller visited a local landfill and couldn’t unsee how many single-use bags were piling up. He went home, bought a secondhand sewing machine, and made the first ChicoBag. Same mission today: helping humanity bag the single-use habit.

Tessa Baum at New York City Department of Parks & Recreation is receiving 100 custom ChicoBags for her team. We’re also sending Sustainable Starter Kits to our other winners Kimberly and Shana.

Thanks to everyone who entered and helped us celebrate 20 years of choosing the reusable option, even when it’s easier not to.
