The neon space was started by Zoelle and her Dad Jacob. They’ve always been super welcoming and encouraging, and I’m so sad to hear that he passed. He was always a cheerful guy with a “you can do it” attitude.

Free-to-attend community crafting time. We have a lot of art kits we’d like to test out, and today’s the day! There’s paint by numbers, diamond painting, window suncatcher kits, spirographs, and more to play with. We will work on projects all afternoon!

Introducing the Friendship Bracelet Bead Station! We organized all the alphabet beads, and have little bags you can fill to make a bracelet, or bigger bags for a necklace. There are trinket dishes by Just Luckey Designs, and we also have cords and clasps. We even have a whole case of pony beads. It’s very fun to make your own jewelry! Our favorite color is sky blue. What’s yours?

Wow, look at these incredible paintings by grey von cannon! She captures the joy of a really good breakfast, or a quiet day in, with her prints. She also has several seafood-lover prints, and we can’t get over the colors!

We just got in these beautiful letterpress notebooks, cards, and washi tape from Blackbird Letterpress.

Ida B Wells was a Chicago journalist and civil rights leader who literally was one of the founders of the NAACP. Her writing exposed the horrors of lynchings and advocated to end them. She did a lot of work for women’s rights, too. She’s amazing.

Kathryn of Blackbird Letterpress not only has art about women in history, but also nature, including a lot of bird art. There are classic letterpress cards, and some that are punch-out models. The warbler had us reciting Brooklyn 99 all afternoon.

And she also sent beautiful nature-themed washi tape.

Thank you to FeltiFriends Studio for leading a splendid pigeon-making felting class this weekend. Sam showed everybody how to make a basic bird form, how to make each wing, and then how to add little pops of color and details to make each pigeon unique! It involves a lot of patience, but it’s totally worth it. Look how cute these birds came out! Thanks, Sam!

New risograph prints in from alec espínola! The first one is called En Route and City Bound, and the bright colors remind us of Dr Seuss’ Mulberry Street and Richard Scarry’s Busytown. He said it was inspired by his trips to school, and the people he met on the way. Alec brought some more art in, too, so if you like what you see, stop on by!
