We are starting to get pictures of all the new discus up on our website (chicagodiscus.com/shop). Hopefully they will all be posted by Thursday so you can order directly from the online shop. We are posting both close-up photos and tank videos of all the strains. Videos are also posted on YouTube (YouTube.com/). All discus remaining from March are on sale at 15% off. Prices are posted on the website. Here's our cute little Snow Leopards and Eruptions to look at in the meantime.

Here's our complete stock list for April/May. The new stock arrived on Thursday and they are on the top of the list. We still have quite a few from our March stock, and they are listed here as well. We will try to get videos of all the new fish posted on our YouTube channel tomorrow, and close-up pictures and listing on our website shop over the next few days. The romance keeps coming at Chicago Discus. We have a mixed pair of extra large (>6.0") Altum Flora Turquoise (F) and Diamond Snakeskin (M). Spawned in the community tank a couple of times, and now last night they spawned again in the breeding tank. These are stunning discus, and the strains are very compatible. The fry should be interesting, unusual and varied. Neither of these strains has any pigeon blood in their genes so no peppering. I would anticipate blue scorpion-like offspring, but that would be for you to find out. Call or send a message if you would like them. Price is $470, not eligible for discount.

We have some very unusual strains available this month. These are our Albino Turquoise and Coral Reds. The Albino Turquoise are unusually large with a most striking pattern. Their horizontal scarlet lines stand out against a pure white background. And the Coral Reds are a unique variety of Red/White Valentine, with the brightest and most pure red and white solid patches. We currently have 3 different varieties of Panthera. This can lead to some confusion about what they actually are. I posted this on Discus Review yesterday but thought it would be worthwhile to repeat it here. The pictures are from our current stock.

Panthera is the term that is applied to full face-spotted leopards and snakeskins. We carry three varieties, all related. Panthera Leopards are 9-bar spotted discus with full face pattern. Of the three pantheras, these have the largest spots. Panthera Snakeskins are 14-bar eruption spotted discus with full face pattern. They have smaller spots than the Panthera Leopards. Super Pantheras have even smaller spots than Panthera Snakeskins. It looks almost as if every scale has it's own spot. They typically have more than 14 bars. Their facial pattern is perfect in detail. It is almost as if they are a double-gene version of the Panthera Snakeskin. Breeding is more difficult as you go from leopard to snakeskin to super panthera. They don't breed true and fewer of the fine spotted versions are produced. That is why they are rare and more expensive.
