Roberts Cycle - Supporters of the Biking Community
Who we are:
Roberts Cycle traces its roots back to the early 20th Century, when a series of bike shops began to appear at 7053 N. Clark (our former address). The first was in the 1920s. Historical photographs show a bike shop there in 1933 with a women's cycling team out in front, and there is another photo of a mixed group of cyclists in 1935. Then in 1955, Bernard and Estelle Garber purchased the shop, launching Roberts Cycle. Mr. Richard Bonomo began working there as a teenager, later becoming the owner. He eventually moved his bike shop across the street to 7054 N. Clark, its current location.
How we connect:
We engage with the community through a number of social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. We continually share news with both the 49th Ward Alderman's office and the Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA). We support community events like the "Artists On The Wall" annual Festival, and the "Spiral Into Spring - A Glenwood Sunday Market Fundraiser," by donating Free Bicycle Tune-Up Certificates for raffle.
What we fix:
We repair e-bikes and scooters, plus bicycles, adult trikes, wheelchairs and rollators--come on in today, we can fix almost anything on wheels :)
