For Black History Month and Women's History Month, BING Art Books is offering an array of titles on loan from the Johnson Publishing Library at the Stony Island Arts Bank focusing on the Black Panther Party and the vital role that women have played in the fight for gender and racial equality.

We're featuring books by BPP founding and key members Huey P. Newton, Bobby Seale and Eldridge Cleaver as well as other Black revolutionaries such as Angela Y. Davis, Stokely Carmichael and H. Rap Brown. Material on women authors and activists include titles by Maya Angelou, Audre Lorde, Ida B. Wells, Shirley Chisholm, and many more.

BING Art Books is kicking off Black History Month with an array of titles on loan from the Johnson Publishing Library at the Stony Island Arts Bank related to the Black Panther Party.

We're featuring books by founding and key members Huey P. Newton, Bobby Seale and Eldridge Cleaver as well as other Black revolutionaries such as Angela Y. Davis, Stokely Carmichael and H. Rap Brown. Also available are historical overviews and perspectives written by non-members.

Stop in at BING any day between 12 Noon–8 PM to learn more about this often misunderstood and misrepresented group of freedom fighters.

Tonight! It's After Hours on the Arts Block! In conjunction with the opening of Eclipsing: The Politics of Night, The Politics of Light at the Arts Incubator, the Currency Exchange Cafe will be staying open until 11pm and offering special menu items. BING will be open until 9pm and will be offering 20% OFF ALL BOOKS FROM 7-9! Come say hello and check out the new layout!

BING has returned to its original location on 307 East Garfield Boulevard, and is now open daily! Our great selection of titles on art, photography, architecture, design, and more are now available for browsing and purchase. Come on by to explore our inventory, study, or hang out with a cup of tea and enjoy the music.

Look for updates regarding upcoming book clubs, author readings, live music, and much more. These events will take place at the bookstore and at the Currency Exchange Café, our sister business located next door.
