Puzzle Me formally known as Babies First puzzle was first created in 1996 when the owner Jerome Hopkins took a photo of his son AJ and turned it into a cardboard puzzle. He found that he could not only use the puzzle to teach his young son about himself but to also teach him shapes and hand and eye coordination. Jerome believes that introducing his son to puzzles at a young age had a long lasting
effect on his sons' early childhood development which carried on into his young adulthood. In August, 2016 AJ became a Junior at North Western University. As Jerome began to expand his research he found that America’s top Universities have funded numerous research projects and studies that support PEJMD’S claim that music and puzzles, are key to the growth and development of toddlers and not TV, computers and video games. These findings have been supported by numerous studies on early childhood undertaken by institutions such as Harvard and Stanford.
Psychologists have determined that a child’s brain development is influenced significantly when a child acts on or manipulates the world around him or her. Puzzles provide that key opportunity. Children learn to work directly with their environment and change its shape and appearance when they work with puzzles.
