Developed in partnership with the University of Chicago and the City of Chicago, Harper Court is set to return to Hyde Park in 2013 and provide the community with the destination it needs and so richly deserves. The 4th on 53rd Parade Committee is thrilled to welcome the Freestyle Percussion Foundation as VERY honored parade participants this year - all the way from Birmingham, Alabama!

"The Freestyle Percussion Foundation was founded in 2004 by Christopher Seltzer with a mission to foster holistic positivity, encourage character building, promote scholarship, and enhance leadership skills among youth and young adults through the utilization of music, arts and dance. We provide young musicians with hands-on training in percussion, fostering personal growth, musical excellence, and a sense of community. At the Freestyle Percussion Foundation, we believe in empowering the next generation of musicians while bringing the electrifying art of percussion to audiences nationwide."

"The affair will span two days, July 17 and 18. The first day will be a symposium on the South Side that looks back on 250 years of the American experiment. But the second day will be all block party. Eric stresses that with everything going on politically and socially these days, the city needs the culture and sense of community more than ever."

Hi, we're hearing from Jazz in the Court concert-goers who were mistakenly ticketed for parking in the Harper Court parking structure on Friday, June 5.

We provide free parking on the day of our Friday jazz concerts when you enter the garage after 10 a.m. and leave before 4 p.m. Unfortunately, this time our system didn't recognize the special event date, and we're happy to have your citations deleted from the system.

Please DM a photo of your citation showing the number, and we can have it taken care of right away.

We hope you'll give us another chance for our Friday, July 10 concert honoring the 100-year anniversary of Oscar Brown Jr.'s birth - it's an extended concert from 12-5 p.m., and parking is free when you enter after 10 a.m. and leave before 6 p.m.
