Friends of Eclecticity,

You may remember Ashleigh, who worked in the store for, what?, 10 years or so. I mean, all together, there was a hiatus in between. But, thatz completely there for trivia-lovers.

Anyway, she's in Oahu, and she has friends and family in Maui who lost everything... homes, businesses, and a cousin who is missing, and things dont look do great.

Anyway, she tells us that the wildfire was UNIMAGINABLY bad. Like Apocalyptic bad. We asked how we could help. She gave us a link for a LOCAL charity, on the ground because "f**k FEMA".

Please share what you can to help those who are going through the worst of times.

Eclecticity is now officially closed. Thank you for a remarkable run. The store gave us 16 years of memories, and a whole lot of good friends, to last us the rest of our lives.

After 16 years, Eclecticity will be closing its doors forever. But, on Saturday, May 23rd, pretty much anything that is still on the floor will be sold.

That includes all the displays, from card spinners to earring holders to pendulum displays.

But, as always, it includes more... oh, so much more!

Baskets, lamps (mostly vintage), vases, clocks (some *really* cool vintage that you'll have to see to believe), wall-mounted wine racks, vintage tables in a variety of shapes and sizes and levels (!!), and lots and lots and LOTS of shelving units.

The more you buy, the better a price you'll get. If anything sounds good, and you're out of Chicago, give us a call on Friday at 773-275-3080 and we'll try to get it shipped out to you. But, everything is first come/first served, so call us quick!

Hi Everybody!

Remember the fixture sale we were supposed to be having on Saturday?

Well, it's not going to happen on Saturday.

Because there is an event on Saturday in Lincoln Square that is going to have the street blocked off for a huge chunk of the day.

And there are going to be kids everywhere.

And nowhere to park.

And we're sorry.

Nobody tells us these things.

Feh.

Anyway, the fixture sale *is* going to be happening.

And soon.

Hey there Eclecticity Fans!

I just got off the phone with the lovely Sophie, and we discussed a whole bunch of stuff about tomorrow's Last.Day.Sale.

And, there's a whole bunch of categories where The More You Buy, The Cheaper It Is.

Wooden birds. Shoyeido incense. Christmas ornaments. Greeting cards.

That's right. Greeting cards.

The more you buy, the cheaper it gets.

You know and I know that Eclecticity has the best greeting cards around. And you know and I know that people just aren't carrying greeting cards like they used to.

So.

Come in, tomorrow, May 9th, and knock your socks off. Really. You are never going to have a better chance to stock up.

It's so hard to say good-bye that we're having problems actually DOING it.

After we closed our doors last week, people started coming by, and sending emails and such, reminding us that this Sunday is Mother's Day, and a lot of people had their hearts set on shopping at Eclecticity, Chicago's Snazziest Store, to get their Moms a little something extra special.

At the same time, we found a stash of really ubercool stuff down in the basement. I mean, fun, funky, gorgeous, unique things that make Eclecticity live up to its name.

So, serendipity being our middle name (who knew?), we decided that we would open our doors ONE LAST TIME. This Saturday. Day after tomorrow. Day before Mother's Day. I'll get the calendar. Hang on. la la la. Oh, yes, Saturday May 9th.

REALLY cool, one-of-a-kind, unique, glorious, wonderful, ubersnazzy stuff. And priced to sell.

So, stock up for the next 5 Mother's Days. Cuz, really.

Now,

After THIS Saturday, we will be bringing up a lot of our old fixtures and baskets and lamps and displays from the basement, and we're gonna blow them out. There are a lot of fun and funky tables that we have collected over our 16 years in business that have never been on sale. They will be on sale on Saturday May 16th. If you like something and you can't make it down on May 16th, just let us know. We'll work something out.

I'm just gonna leave these last three paragraphs from the last email, because they still apply, and there's only so many adjectives I can think of at the moment, so, here's those...

For months and months, Siri and I have known that the store's basement was filled with wonderful treasures that should have come upstairs so that people could see them and fall in love with them and take them home or give them to a loved one.

Well, Siri has been working in the basement all week and has been busy bringing stuff up.

First, Thank You, SO MUCH, for the past 16 years! Eclecticity has been a labor of love for us, and we have met so many wonderful people, and had so many fabulous experiences, that it is difficult to convey how wonderful an experience this has been for us.

This is our last week, and, everything is 30% off, except the jewelry, which remains at 10% off, and the last remaining Sarena Mann fairy, who remains at 20% off.

We will be bringing up a lot of our old fixtures and baskets and lamps and displays from the basement, and the prices that are marked on those will reflect the final mark downs. There are a lot of fun and funky tables that we have collected over our 16 years in business that have never been on sale. They are on sale now.

If you want to check out our fixtures and displays and just can't make it in this week, we will be open by appointment only next week, for fixtures and displays. And we will give you a great price. Feel free to call us at 773-275-3080, and we can work out a time.
