Very Very Old Fitzgerald—in this case a rare 15yr example bottled in 1966—was distilled under Pappy's supervision in 1951 and contains 100 percent Stitzel-Weller distillate. While regular Old Fitzgerald, Weller Special Reserve and other brands were the bulk of production for Stitzel Weller, Very Old Fitzgerald was considered their premium line from the late-1940s through the early-1980s.

Did You Know? The original Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 made it illegal to label any bottle "bonded" if it was aged past 8 years. This was changed in 1958 which is how Old Fitzgerald (and others) were able to legally release 10-, 12-, 15- and even 18-year old bottled-in-bond bourbons.

Don’t let the packaging fool you: Wild Turkey "Cheesy Gold Foil" (CGF) is known as some of the very best bourbon Wild Turkey ever produced. This bourbon is from the glut era—where producers made more than they could sell—and is generally believed to be significantly older than the stated 12 years.

Did You Know? CGF began in 1985 and ran until 1992, domestically. It continued to be exported to Japan for several years prior to switching to the split-label style.

The inaugural Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archives release, Gold Foil Edition draws inspiration from one of the most iconic and respected Wild Turkey labels of all time: the Cheesy Gold Foil 12yr series from the 1980s and 90s.

According to Bruce Russell, the 16yr, non-chill filtered, 120 proof bourbon was crafted from a selection of more than 500 barrels sourced from Camp Nelson D, E and F rickhouses.

The Wheated Warrior is part of a three-piece "Red Ink" set of bottles privately selected and split with Julio's Liquors in 2014. A portion of the proceeds benefited the Wounded Warrior Project.

The other two bottles in the trio are "Aged Truth" (barrel 806, an 11yr bourbon) and "The Wheated Patriot" (barrel C2D, a 21yr bourbon).

Notably, The Wheated Warrior was distilled on 6/2/93; a slightly different distillation date from some of the most well known 4/6/93 wheated Willetts.

The other two bottles in the trio are the two 21yr wheaters: "The Wheated Patriot" (barrel C2D, a 21yr bourbon) and "The Wheated Warrior" (barrel B36, a 21yr bourbon).

Aged Truth is a standout from the 700/800 series; widely accepted to be Brown-Forman distilled. Some of the most sought after Willett Family Estate bottlings of all time came from this run of barrels.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Old Forester forever altered the bourbon decanter landscape by hiring the design firm of world famous industrial designer, Raymond Loewy.

The Sputnik decanter is the most recognized of them all; but there are several other holiday decanter designs with similar mid-century modern influences created by Loewy’s firm.

The Macallan Six Pillars Collection is part of a more than decade-long collaboration between the Macallan distillery and crystal manufacturer, Lalique.

The collection contains six different releases spanning from 2005 through 2016; each unique in age, proof and decanter design.

This is the second in the series, released in 2007, with a decanter design inspired by one of Lalique’s most iconic perfume bottles. The 55 year single malt was matured in sherry casks.

Only 420 decanters were produced.

Martin Mills is one of two Heaven Hill Japanese exports bottled at 24 years old and exactly 107 proof. The other is Bourbon Valley 24yr.

The bourbon is from the original Heaven Hill distillery, pre-fire, and was distilled in 1974 but bottled post-fire in 1999. Many have speculated that the ultra old barrels in this bottling were somehow altered or affected by the intense temperatures and flames during the 1996 fire which added to the lore of the bottling.

This was a one-time, batched release done exclusively for the Japanese market and only 4,284 bottles were produced.

Distilled in 1938 and aged for over 31 years in a second fill sherry cask. The whisky was originally bottled in 1969, but then re-bottled in 2002 by Macallan specifically for the Fine & rare series.

The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection was introduced in 2002 with the concept of showcasing a series of ultra high quality vintage releases over time. To date, there have been over 50 different bottlings and the series holds the record of being the largest collection of "vintage" single malts from one distillery.
