Her professional experiences, as well as her knowledge of what bilingual children desire and enjoy reading, is what informs her thoughtful selection of books. We hope that you find books that will bring joy to the children in your life. We also hope that these books will help you in raising your children, or educating your students, to be bilingual.

¡Bienvenidos a Los Amigos Books! Nuestro nuevo local en Chicago se abrirá el 29 de junio del 2024. Vendemos libros para niños y jovenes, escritos en español y también libros bilingües. Los compramos de editoriales domésticos, latino americanos, y españoles. Nuestra fundadora, Laura Romaní, una anterior maestra de lenguaje dual, es la curadora de nuestra colección de libros. Laura también tiene su maestría en educación, una licenciatura en bibliotecología y ciencias de la información, y también una licenciatura en la lengua española. Laura usa sus experiencias profesionales y su conocimiento sobre los intereses literarios de los niños bilingües para informar su atenta selección de libros. Esperamos que encuentren libros que los niños en sus vidas puedan disfrutar. También esperamos que estos libros los ayuden fomentar el bilingüismo en sus hijos o en sus estudiantes.

¡Estamos super emocionados de ver la serie La casa de los espíritus!

Esta serie se basa en la novela más famosa de la gran Isabel Allende. Nos encanta su estilo de escritura, es casual, conversacional y al mismo tiempo educativo. Aunque los personajes son ficticios, uno realmente aprende mucho sobre las épocas históricas en las que se ambientan sus libros. En la librería siempre recomendamos sus novelas a aquellos quienes quieren practicar leer en español y a la vez familiarizarse con la literatura latinoamericana clásica. ¡Esperamos que la serie le haga justicia a esta gran saga!

Once again, we are so blessed to be able to say that we were sooooooooooooooooooo busy on Indie Bookstore Day that we only managed to take one photo. But at least it was with the amazing group! One of the highlights of Indie Bookstore Day was the bilingual story time of La Cucaracha by author Nayeli Reyes ! La Cucaracha is illustrated by her sister Citlali Reyes .illustrator! Thank you Nayeli for doing two stories times and for signing copies afterwards! It was lovely to have you and your family be our special guests! And thank you to the families who attended! We hope you all enjoyed yourselves!
