Madison & State Fiber Co. is a Chicago based hand dyed yarn partnership. M&S was born from our love of yarn and passion for knitting and crocheting, using our hands to make (and wear) our art.

Happy Caturday!! 😻

We got pummeled with snow yesterday in Chicago. Up on the North Shore here we got 9 inches! Falling at a rate of 2 inches per hour...we had major snow globe vibes.

Today we're keeping warm snuggling kitties, knitting with new colorways in testing, and wondering why we only ordered 2 of these sock boxes! 🧶 What are y'all up to today? Did you get hit with any snow this week? ❄

Happy 🐪 Day!!

One of our 2022 goals for M&S is to launch monthly clubs so we can get y’all more yarn more often. We’re ready to get the ball rolling with our first mystery yarn club! 💛💜💙💚

Here’s what we’re thinking re clubs -
💕 pre orders will open at the end of the month & remain open through the first week of the next month
💕 yarn will ship within 2 weeks of the pre order close unless stated otherwise
💕 choose any of our classic bases for your order (Bulky, DK, or Fi*****ng)

For February’s club, we’ve drawn inspiration from the classic candy hearts we all know and love! Listings will go live on Friday, 1/28, and will remain open until Saturday, 2/5. Keep an eye on our feed for more inspo pics this week!

One of our favorite things to do with a collection is pull color combos. We each tend to lean towards warm (Hannah) & cool (Sara) color pairings.

2021 wasn't the best year was it? For us, like most, there were a lot of really rough patches. But, there were also a few positives we're going to focus on instead!

🧶 we learned how to dye yarn & launched M&S!
🧶 sock knitting - we've had anywhere from 1 to 5 socks on the needles at all times since the dots connected last January!
🧶 opened up shop & was the first LYS to carry our yarn!

Are there any socks you recognize or knit during 2021 in our pic? Designers are tagged for a hint! 😉

Fall is out & Frost is in y'all. With the arrival of the Frosted Collection ❄ & everything else we have planned for 2022, we need to clear out the shop to make room! The Fall Y'all Collection will be leaving the shop this Saturday, 1/15.
