There is a trend in our society today which is robbing our children of their future. There are many causes: divorce, drugs, abuse and neglect, peer pressures, poor education and results of abandonment. About half of today's teens live apart from their parents, usually the father. As a result of the breakdown in the family, and the negative influences surrounding our youth, some girls drop out of s
chool, run away ... many become pregnant, many contract sexually transmitted diseases, some commit su***de. These girls, if left with nowhere to go, will end up in foster homes, government institutions, or on the street where they will most likely become victims of violent crime and exploitation's. In February of 1998, my wife and I, burdened about these children, opened our Christian home for girls. They come from all religious and racial backgrounds. Most of these children are not juvenile delinquents. They have just become hardened from their problems and circumstances. Here they flourish in a stable and loving environment, and learn to respect others. They live in a loving family atmosphere that nurtures Christian values. They do chores, have individual and group Bible studies, and have fun activities. The "family" attends church twice on Sunday and on Wednesday nights. Also, they attend many mission conferences and camp meetings. When the girls come here, they stay at least 24 months, and if it is in their best interest, through high school. New Hope Ranch does not receive federal or state aide. We are a completely faith-based ministry that trusts God to meet our needs. New Hope Thrift Store revenues help fund the operation of the ranch.
