On October 3, 1789, our first president, George Washington, proclaimed Thursday, November 26th, a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God.

I am thankful for this day of Thanksgiving that is still being observed 230 years later.

A blessed Thanksgiving to each of you and your families!
