🎄 I wasn’t going to decorate for Christmas but then I did 🤣. 🎅🏼

A few fun stories! First is that Sawyer is giving away a Kindred candle today on their Instagram! 💦

Second- Two weeks ago, I spent all week making candles for that weekend’s festival up on Signal Mountain. Within two hours, I’d sold out of all of my Appalachian Trail scented ones and then my Smoky Mountain Nights soon followed. A lot of people mentioned they wanted Tennessee candles for gifts for out of town folks. I ended up extending free out of town shipping + local delivery as I felt bad I’d run out. Friday, my dad and I spent the day delivering candles to folks around town. One lady bought 6 candles to be shipped to Knoxville.

Yesterday, she texted me and said one of the candles she bought she’s shipping to her son who is deployed overseas (Smoky Mountain Nights). That is one of the Christmas presents she chose to ship to him🥹 Thinking of a candle I made bringing a soldier overseas some comfort from home really touched me.

This week we hit our SEVENTH state for wholesale orders! So crazy to think that just last year I hadn’t even launched my first batch of candles and now they are in stores in seven different states.

We are in the middle of festival season, which has been so fun. Today my studio was open - which was kind of like having people over to your house. I think after a year here, my space is really starting to come together.

I also saw several orders come in online which was super exciting! Every time I get an order, my phone makes a “cha-ching” sound and I stop what I’m doing to celebrate and send prayers and good thoughts to whoever placed the order.

My aunt, Andrea, is one of the kindest and most beautiful people (inside and out) I know.

I’ve always felt lucky to have her as a relative.

Andrea is undergoing treatment for a very rare malignant brain tumor. It’s impacted her vision and she’s currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

It’s always fun but it’s not always smooth sailing around here at Kindred 🤣. Here are some “real life” shots of the highs and lows behind the scenes of running this lil business the past few weeks:

1. Opening up my booth at 7am in 22 degree weather to find what looked like a crime scene but was only wind 🤣

2. Car broke down last night on the way home. Had to have it towed and the costs to repair it is more than we took in in sales for the past week 🤦🏼‍♀️.

3. My cutie little pop up at the Christmas Market at Camp Jordan 🎄
