Janiya Baker, a 15-year-old from Homestead, Florida, has made history as the first Miami-Dade student to jump from 9th to 12th grade in a year! Excelling academically with the highest GPA in her class while serving as class president and varsity cheerleader, Janiya’s hard work and determination shine. Next, she’s heading to Florida International University to major in business and join the cheer squad. 🎓

Staten Island’s Kamora Freeland, 17, now one of the youngest licensed Black pilots, recently earned her private pilot’s license. “I have a passion for it, and I love it,” she said.-
Freeland, a senior at Kingsborough Early College High School, passed solo and cross-country flight tests, even flying her mom to Martha’s Vineyard.

Freeland heads to Spelman in fall, aiming for a commercial pilot’s license next.
